A major figure in pop music, Bob Dylan was born in Minnesota on May 24, 1941. Influenced by country music, his musical style has been expressed in all styles: rock, folk, blues... A singer committed to the struggles of American youth in the 60s, and an apostle of the counterculture, he composed anti-Vietnam War "anthems" such as Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They Are a-Changin. With some forty albums to his credit, Bob Dylan's work combines traditional American music with the most avant-garde modernity. He was one of the artists who most revolutionized popular music in the 1960s and 1970s. His influence extends beyond music to literature, film and even politics.
